Greetings peoples!

So given recent ervents, I think its past time to throw up a post concerning some of the basics of Barbarus' as a country as a whole. So..lets begin

Geographic location: Barbarus (the fictional kingdom) is not as large a kingdom as it might have once been. The Line of the Dragons has fallen into disrepair and ceeded landed over the course of a century to various of its neighbors. It was not until the coming of Isidore's Father (named..uhh....ummm.. Ganelon D'Aiglemort) was the most recent in the line of kings that worked to expand the kingdom as a whole and take back lands that were Barbarus'. Barbarus is situated in a broud valley, encircled to the North and east by mountains, (valled the Valn Range). To the south is the best farm lands, yielding the richest harvests and the milodest weather. To the west, tall forests and the kingdom of Zackfare. Its Northen Borders is secured by the Nation known as Gaul (France), to the Northwest, Germany (Skaldi). To the south...an ocean. Basically... Barbarus is the southern parts of france and the northern pieces of italy.

Area: 800,367 sq km. Thats about the size of Wyoming and Colorado put together for those of us that live in the states. A sizeable kingdom. Barbarus capital city sits in the square center of the nation. Other Major Cities, are scattered abroad with each cardinal direction having its own central city and adjoining cities. The kingdom is divided into Duchy's. The Duchy of the West, called Asinore, has slolwy been overrun in the last two decades by the Kingdom of Zackfare. The Duchy of the South, called Namaren has long held faith with the crown of Barbarus. To the east, the Duchy of Ilarrio. The the Noth, the Duchy of Tyrene. Each of these duchy's is Sovereign, meaning outside of taxes paid to the crown, and pledges of fealty to the Crown they have leave to deal with their own affairs. By submitting a claim of fealty to the Crown they can protection and economic influence

Chief Exports of Barbarus: Barbarus finds much of its trade through precious metals and ores found in the eastern mountain ranges. Gold, Silver, Iron, Copper, Bronze. There are the chiefiest of minereal exports. The grazing lands of the duchy of Namaren yield rich harvests and fine cattle. The northern ducy is well known for its fine weapons and steel giving rise to the rumor that Barbarus steel (forged and created in Tyrene) is the best in the world and fetches the hgihest prices. Weapons and armor crafted by Trenese blacksmiths fetch astounding prices, and their skill with forging blades is legendary. The Duchy of Illario is said to possess the most beautiful and passionate of women, creating the best slaves. Unbeknownst to the Crown or the Church (at least opfficially) the Ilarians conduct a brisk and highly successful slaving business. Various aggriculture exports also accompany the minereals and human exports.

Military might of Barbarus:

At any given moment, the might of the royal army numbers some ten thousand battle tested and tried troops. Should need arise, each of the Duchys can build and train another 2500 troops. These numbers only figure men of fighting age (18-35). The figure doubles should the age limits be expanded in either direction. The royal army consists of precisely seven thousand infantry (2000 of which are archers), 1500 calvary, 200 seige engineers , 100 chaplains/medics, and two hundred officers of varying ranks. Thanks to Ganelon studying some of the ancient roman tactics, the royal army consists of some of the finest trained troops since the fall of Rome. Disciplined, steady and mindlessly obedient, these are the troops that ended the war with the southern kingsdom (Inarion I belive we named it..if not..thats what its called now LMAO!!), and now move into position to take war against Zackfare..and the renegeade Eldar Dracus

If anyone has any questions..feel free to drop me a line!

*Low whistle*

Now that's what I call some definitive detail, and sorely needed too, considering the way the setting and the realm is growing!*Grins*

Awesome job!
