History: Gregorick for all intents and purposes at present, is a ranger of the western border provinces of the kingdom. He has been in the employ of the Imperial army in the past, from time to time, as a scout as well, knowing the western wild regions, better then most anyone. However, truth be told...The WaltheSeer name was once known in this kingdom. Not well in truth, for they were a middling powerful noble family yes, but set so far out on the western border of the kingdom, that there was seldom more then one WaltheSeer at court, at any given time. And those occasions were relatively few and far between as it was. However, it was the WaltheSeer name and arms, along with those of some other mid to minor noble houses, that kept the border skirmishes between the kingdom of Barbaric Castle and it's uneasy relations with the nation to it's west, from coming to anything of serious or worrisome nature. That was at least, until relatively recently.
Fifteen years ago, the WaltheSeer estate as well as several others and a fair section of the border province of the kingdom, finaly fell during a concentrated attack by the western nation. Gregorick was a lad then, sent off for fosterage as was the custom back then, to a noble house with conections to the WaltheSeers. And it was only due to this, that he alone of his kin survived to bear the WaltheSeer name.
Their titles however, were all tied to the lands they had held, gifted by the crown for services rendered by Gregorick's great grandfather. And so he was a lord no longer. One can not hold a title or anything relevant to it, if the lands the title sprang from, were within the clutch of a neighboring enemy kingdom, now could they? The noble house he had fostered with, were not unkind, and he was raised still, in accordance with the education offered to their own sons. But, the lad knew of the fate of his family, and how his own future was now something that could only be conjectured at....And so he oft ran wild. It was the gamekeeper of his fosterage family, that more often then not found him and brought him home again. And over time he befriended Gregorick, teaching him what he knew of the land and the beasts that ran it.
And so, when he came of age, though his fosterage family offered him a position as a man at arms in their guard, he bid them well, but chose to leave. And thus struck out on his own as a ranger. Taking what he had learned from the gameskeeper and expanding upon such. And always...he moved west. Until he came to constantly cycle in a perimeter patrol of the new western border...And always seeking to explore past it's fringes, seeking to traverse upon WaltheSeer lands again, if only for a scant time. Unfortunetly his family's estate was quite a bit past the new western borders of the kingdom, and so he has not...yet...made it that far. But not much stops a man who is driven, and has next to nothing to lose. And so he probably would have kept up the attempt, until reaching the old estate, or dying in the attempt...Were it not for the death of the old king of the nation of Barbaric.
Upon hearing that news, Gregorick had turned his attention and his steed, back toward the kingdom's capital. He would bide then, and observe whichever of the old king's sons took the crown and the throne. In time, who knew what might happen...Perhaps the son might rectify the wrong done to the kingdom, during the time of his father's reign. And what for political or financial reasons could not be done then, might be possible in the near future...The reclaiming of the western border of the kingdom.
And...as the WaltheSeer estate was amoungst that relatively large tract of land...If it seemed that might be a possibility to be suggested at some point, then Gregorick planned on being there, suggesting it if at all possible. The name of WaltheSeer was not forgotten, in the western provinces. And the WaltheSeer heir could still perhaps call forth the alliegence of a common people that, residing that far out in the western provinces had, save for that family and their experience with them, little knowledge or general use, for the capital, let alone for court and nobility in general.
Until such a time comes however, when it would be to his advantage to step forward and reveal the truth of his lineage...or it is otherwise revealed for him, Gregorick plans on maintaining the masquerade of being naught more then a ranger and occasional scout for the imperial army. And if he sometimes seems a bit too knowledgable about courtly matters, then a commoner should...Well, with a wink and a nod, the rumor of being a favorite bastard son to some courtier, and given a bit of education when younger...These things are easily spread, after all...
Appearance: Gregorick WaltheSeer is of slighter, more atheletic build then your common warrior type or man at arms. Lean and wiry instead of bulked up and corded musculature. He stands rather tall however, especialy for the era. And constantly seems to be in need of a shave...With the rare exception of when he's just had one. Roan hair and grizzled beard, just a shade darker then auburn, though gold red glints can be seen in direct light. The man posseses dark eyes, it's unclear if they're simply an intense deep brown, or if some throwback of Barbaric's conquest of a southern nation and it's people's bloodline, can be seen in a true black within their depths. He carries a ruddy tan complexion, a man of the wildelands and it's temperate exposure.
Personality: Possessing a striking personality, seemingly jovial and good natured. Any brooding sense to his character is normaly kept well in check, while around others. A charming rogue'ish nature seems to pervade all that he does...But to the observant eye, at least that knows what to look for, he may well be more then he appears. ((A nod to his character history, though otherwise, without my knowledge and consent, not to be played upon if you please)). He is quick with a laugh, a jest or a call to any intriguing amusement of the day. Though archery is his forte', he's not immune to the zest for sparring either, and can hold his own fair well, with a sword or mace. And he often reaps the rewards for looking quite lean in build, by having bets placed against him, in wrestling matches with larger, stronger opponents...The adage of the bigger they are, the harder they fall, well that, and the fact he's wrestled (literaly) more then one bear in the wilds...Stands in his favor.
He is educated, not as well as he might have been if his family estate and titles remained, but fair enough. However his temperament is more often to stare at a map or read up on the latest explorations, then to settle down for a deep study session of the more estoric of lore. A man made and forged by the will to survive in more then one context, Gregorick is more often to be found out of doors, then in.
BDSM: Eventualy, yes. Dominant At the time of character conception, he's had no actual exposure to the "darker side" of such things. But he is dominant by nature, and it shows.
